In the long list of “Doctor Who” monsters, what’s your favorite?
The Weeping Angels. It’s the concept (that they only move when you aren’t looking at them). But there’s one at the end of this season — it’s a new monster, and I’d say you have to wait and see that. That one is my favorite, so far.

How would you define your character’s relationship with The Doctor?I like that she holds her own. You know, The Doctor’s this amazing man, and she’s like, “You know, cool. I think you’re amazing, but so am I.” So, it’s a nice double act.

I had my first scenes with the TARDIS the other day. In fact, I had an argument with the TARDIS. I fell through it. I had to bang on the doors, and the doors weren’t shut properly, so in front of all the crew I went flying through it. It’s on camera. I thought, ‘Oh my goodness, I’ve broken the Tardis, everyone’s going to hate me.’

I’m still a little nervous, because I don’t want to let people down, but I’m really excited and hope we can give you some great stories.

Steven Moffat brilliantly creates the character on the page. If she happens to be sexy – then I’ll feel comfortable paying that.

To be honest, I know I was there – in body, I was there – but I did feel slightly like an out-body experience.

It’s between billie Piper and Karen Gillan. I think. I’ve got lot of memories from the Billie Piper era

I was in Marks and Spencer holding an avocado – having the debate of what goes best in a salmon salad – when I got the call from my agent, and it was kind of bewildered excitement, confusion, ‘Really? Oh goodness’, all sorts of emotions…After I hung up, I though, ‘I really can’t carry on shopping’, so I just put the basket down and left Marks and Spencer, and just went for a littler walk and tried to digest.

He’s…well, me and Matt are at the same agency, so my agent had said ‘You’re going to be meeting one of our other clients, Matt Smith, and you’ll be in such good hands. He’s so lovely.’ The minute I walked in the audition room, he just hugged me, like straight away – He doeas that – He does, doesn’t he? It just kind of takes any defenses and guards down. He’s so open, and so energic, and enthusiastic, and it’s kind of infectious. You feed off that as well. He made the whole process very easy and enjoyable for me.

I told my mum. My parents and my grandparents knew. and my boyfriend. My agent told me just to tell my mum. I did tell five people, but they were under strict instructions that my grandma wasn’t allowed to tell the entire hairdressing salon.

There are definitely going to be life changes. I mean Emmerdale changed me, but then you go off and do another job. I went and filmed Titanic and lived in Budapest for three months, met all sorts of people, and that changed me. So I’m sure Doctor Who will, in lots of ways. I’m sure I’m going to get to know a lot of people, and develop a lot of relationships, creatively. There are so many adventures withing the stories.
(Replying to the question So how does Jenna think Doctor Who will change her? – source: Doctor Who MagazineInterview)
I know we have some great stories in the pipeline, so I just hope I can deliver. I feel a great privilege to be given this opportunity, to be a part of this whole adventure, and to tell these stories and go on these epic journeys. It’s just so exciting. I really can’t wait. I won’t let you down. We’re going to have a lot of fun.

I think it’s got to be the Daleks, but then I don’t know what’s going to happen, so I don’t know who I’m going to meet or who I’m going to be up against. It’s a mystery to me.

I had some really good advice from Matt actually, which is to stay off the internet. So I’m going to follow that advice. No Googling – I’m on a Google ban.
